Do you provide appraisals?
We do not currently offer appraisals for instruments. However, we are more than happy to help with any repairs or restorations you may need before deciding to sell your instrument.
Do you sell any brands of instruments other than D Z Strad?
We mainly sell D Z Strad and Lesong Concerto brand instruments. We also have a smaller selection of Scott Cao, Ming Jiang Zhu, and Hofner instruments and fine violins, violas, and cellos.
Do you purchase used instruments?
No, we do not. We will, however, work with customers on trade-ins of D Z Strad and Lesong Concerto instruments purchased at the store level or stradny.com. Please read below.
What is your trade-in policy?
After 30 days of purchase, all D Z Strad and Lesong Concerto instruments purchased through our store or website are eligible for a trade-in. Depending on the condition of the instrument returned (as evaluated by a sales associate and our luthier), you can receive up to 80% of the original purchase price as a credit towards your next instrument purchase of a greater value. This credit can only be put toward the purchase of a new instrument. This credit may not be used to purchase accessories or rent instruments.
What is your shipping cost?
Shipping rates vary depending on the item purchased. For shipments within the continental U.S., We offer free shipping for violins and violas. Cello shipping rates are calculated during checkout. For information on express shipping, please contact us at 914-831-7415 or email@example.com
PLEASE NOTE: If ordering from Alaska or Hawaii you must contact firstname.lastname@example.org before completing your order, because our free shipping for violins and violas does not apply for Alaska and Hawaii. We do ship Internationally - International shipping rates are calculated at checkout.
How long will it take my instrument to ship?
Orders are usually processed between 2-3 business days. The instruments then go through a final inspection with our luthier and are sent out when approved. This entire process could take up to 5 business days, but you will be notified if there are any further delays.
Shipping accross the continental United States takes approximately 2-5 business days after orders are processed.
Do your instruments come with any accessories?
All instruments come with a case, bow, and a pack of rosin, ensuring that the instrument can be played upon receipt. For case and bow upgrade options, please contact us at 914-831-7415 or email@example.com
Is there an educator discount?

Do you offer lessons at your shop?
Yes, we do! We offer violin, viola, cello, and piano lessons throughout the week. Please email email@example.com to find out more about specific scheduling.
I purchased a pack of lessons. What do I do now?
After you purchase your lessons, you must contact the store to schedule your recurring lesson date and time. Lessons will be scheduled by availability of the teacher. Extra charges may apply for lessons scheduled during peak hours.
Can you send me more pictures of the instrument I like?
Yes, we can! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the instrument model you would like to see more pictures of, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
What is your return/exchange policy?
You can return any instrument or bow for up to 30 days from the date you purchased it, for a full refund (program in effect until 1/1/23) and we carefully examine every return that has been used or lightly used. All returns MUST be authorized - please call the shop at (914) 831 - 7415 to get authorization. Accessories can not be refunded.
The customer is responsible for return shipping. Please retain the packing materials in case of a return.
Please Note: All instrument returns must include the original outfit and accessories with which they were received. Failure to do so will result in partial refund.
All sales are final on clearance items and are not eligible for return or exchange.
The special returns policy is valid only until January 1, 2023.
Is there a warranty on your products?
All of our instruments come with a 1-year warranty covering build defects. Although a variety of repairs are covered, those that are not include (but are not limited to):
- Bridge repair/replacement
- Major cracks to the body
- Broken peg
- Broken fingerboard
- Broken neck
- Broken strings
- Missing corners
There is also a 2-month warranty on our bows. This does not cover broken tips or missing hair.
D Z Strad Violin Shop does not cover broken accessories or broken strings. All items sold from D Z Strad Violin Shop are quality checked and tested before the customer receives them to ensure no issues are present.
